UPC plans to launch a virtual mobile operator within the 4ka network

Telecoms operator UPC plans to launch a virtual mobile operator within the 4ka network by the end of this year, sources tell zive.sk. 4ka (namely, its sister company Swan) already uses UPC's fiber-optic network to offer its own fixed services. Currently, Orange, O2, Slovak Telekom, and 4ka have their own mobile networks in Slovakia, plus there are other brands: Juro (Slovak Telekom) and Radosť (O2), as well as virtual operators FunFón (Orange) and Tesco mobile (O2). Unimobile’s efforts to launch a virtual mobile phone operator has so far been unsuccessful as it has been unable to agree with competitors on the use of their networks. Thanks to national roaming, UPC's new operator will also be able to use Orange's network.
