Turčan Delta to lose lucrative contract
SPM, a Czech company, has submitted the lowest bid in the Interior Ministry’s car license plate tender, €4.10 per piece. The plates are currently supplied by Turčan Delta, which charges €7.50. The Slovak company MOPS PRESS offered a price only slightly higher than SPM, which also supplies tables in Czechia. The current supplier is expected to obstruct the tender: it has been doing so since 2019. Demand for the plates should fall by 40% from the current 1m annually after 2023, when new car owners will be allowed to keep existing plates.
