Total costs of ownership of an electric vehicle in Slovakia is €0.34/km, versus €0.28 for a combustion-engine car, according to the Ayvens Mobility Guide 2026 study. The study compares TCO over four years and 120,000 km. Slovakia thus offers relatively unfavorable conditions for EVs, mainly due to the absence of state subsidies and incentives. The charging network in Slovakia is relatively dense, but high EV prices result in a low market share of new car sales, a quarter of the EU average.
