Deputy PM Veronika Remišová (Za ľudí) has recently informed municipalities and VÚCs that the EU had placed Oleg Deripaska on its sanctions list, and invoices in projects financed by EU funds and carried out by Strabag may not be repaid. Strabag is among Slovakia’s largest construction firms and Deripaska holds a 13.5% stake. The state, though, did not give clear instructions on how to proceed. Strabag claims that it is not a subject of any international sanctions. Deripaska is not inputted in the public sector partners’ registry.
