Spinea is leaving behind two tough years

Prešov-based Spinea (Jozef Jankulák), which is among the global leaders in the production of high precision reduction gears, broke even in 2019-20 and its 2020 sales were down 32% to €22.2m. Back in 2018 its sales stood at €37m, but then the automotive sector’s demand for robots equipped with its gears slumped. It was forced to cut 100 of 540 jobs. The demand recovered this year and the company is hiring again, expecting €40m sales this year. It is installing technologies in its new €80m plant it completed in 2019. It hopes the new plant will employ 850.
