Slovenské elektrárne expects a gradual decline in profitability despite rising output following the launch of the 4th unit at the Mochovce nuclear plant, due to falling electricity prices, said CEO Branislav Strýček. EBITDA profit will fall from last year's record €1.7bn to €1.4bn this year, with forecasts for 2027-29 pointing to further declines. The company is also raising annual investment from the current €70m per year to €250m (excluding Mochovce). Over the next five years it plans to invest €1bn, making it the country's largest investor. It is using the know-how gained from completing Mochovce, into which it invested €6.7bn, as a consultant for new power plants in Poland, the US, Bulgaria and Hungary.
