Slovenská pošta is losing ground in parcel delivery
The state-owned postal provider Slovenská pošta is losing ground in parcel delivery. It has only 155 parcel pick-up boxes compared to Packeta's 1,700 and Alza's 560. The number of parcels delivered by SP fell last year (parcel delivery accounted for 14% of its revenues), while Packeta reported 45% growth. In Alza's case, the boxes account for a quarter of parcel deliveries and couriers for another quarter. SP delivers 79% of parcels to homes and only 5% to the boxes.
