Slovakia the largest customer for Russian gas and oil in the EU
Slovakia was the largest customer for Russian gas and oil in the EU in December, CREA data show. We paid €189m for oil and €127m for gas per day. Thus, out of the total Russian daily revenues of €640m, the 2nd-worst month since the invasion of Ukraine, Slovakia paid €316m. In March 2022, Russia was collecting €1.2bn a day, but then had to redirect exports to China and India. Slovakia is followed by Hungary and Belgium.
