Slovakia is 8th-worst in Covid-19 deaths

Although the Omicron wave is in retreat, some (mostly unvaccinated) Slovaks are still dying of Covid-19. The official death toll is just under 19,000. When it comes to the total per capita Covid-19 deaths since the pandemic’s beginning, Slovakia is the 8th-worst in the world and 4th-worst in the EU behind only Finland, Greece and Bulgaria, Our World in Data shows. The number of hospitalized Slovaks has been stagnating just under 2,500 lately.
