Slovakia has around 150 franchise concepts

Slovakia has around 150 franchise concepts and five more emerge every year, according to the Slovak Franchise Association. Almost 60% operate in the gastro segment, especially in fast food, followed by retail with a 13% share. In addition to global brands such as McDonald's, Starbucks and KFC, the best-known concepts include homegrown brands Mr. Kebab, Californian and La Donuteria. La Donuteria operates more than 100 outlets in 16 countries, including Egypt and Saudi Arabia, with a target of 300 outlets by 2025.
