France's Veolia completed the purchase of seven Slovak firms from fellow French group Engie after winning approval from anti-trust authority PMÚ. The new owner took over Engie Services, Račianska teplárenská, Prvá ružinovská spoločnosť, Energy Distribution, Termming, TH Moldava and LMT. The new merged entity employs 1,370 people and its companies had €650m sales last year.

Veolia also bought Slovakia's largest biomethane plant, BPS Horovce, from investment group Reticulum. The plant produces 60 GWh of biomethane a year by processing 55,000 tons of waste. It has supplied the gas grid since February this year, when it switched to biomethane after support for electricity generation ended.
