Slovak food prices are high

Slovak food prices are high, a seznamzpravy.cz comparison confirms. Buying the same 27 items in Lidl stores, its Slovak bill was €63.50, Czech one €58.36, Austrian €53.83 and it paid just €46.25 in Poland (all prices after temporary discounts). The differences in prices are partly due to different levels of VAT, e.g. in Poland it is 0%. The price caps advertised by Slovak retailers do not help Slovaks much.
