Credit rating agency S&P improved the outlook on Slovakia's sovereign rating to stable from negative and kept the rating at A+. The change in the outlook comes on the back of riding out the energy crisis. Fiscal consolidation poses a risk; however, the agency expects the next government to take steps to substantially reduce the deficit. Otherwise it may downgrade the rating. Other risks are the prospects for medium-term economic growth and the difficult post-election negotiations for a new coalition.
