S&P affirmed Slovakia's A rating with a stable outlook, one notch above Moody's and Fitch. The agency cut the rating from A+ in April. Finance Minister Ladislav Kamenický welcomed the affirmation, noting that it came after the approval of the 2027 state budget. Opposition parties note that the rating is the lowest since 2014 and just two notches above junk, blaming generous “social” measures and rising public debt.
