Robert Fico is taking care of his people

Justice Minister Boris Susko (Smer) released former head of special prosecutors Dušan Kováčik from prison until the Supreme Court decides on his special appeal. Kováčik was serving an 8-year sentence for helping the mafia (he arranged for the release of a mafia boss from prison in return for a €50,000 bribe). He was a key part of the system of "our people" of Smer; he assigned himself the biggest corruption cases (Gorilla, Smer financing, and Ladislav Bašternák) and consigned them to oblivion. In addition to the case in which he has already been convicted, he is also facing charges of accepting a bribe from Peter Košč.
