Prices of electronics and home appliances are 20% higher annually, data of price comparison site Heureka show. The price hike stems from high demand and limited supply amid shortages of chips, metals, plastics and glass as well as shipping bottlenecks. The Heureka data, though, may simply reflect a shortage of cheap products, with premium products impacting the final price. Analysts are concerned such news of price hikes will become a self-fulling prophecy.
