Power generator Slovenské elektrárne expects its highest profit this year
Power generator Slovenské elektrárne expects its highest profit this year, reckons its CEO Branislav Strýček. Last year, it posted a historic €217m loss. The change is down to the launch of the Mochovce nuclear power plant’s third bloc. SE’s financial condition is improving and it has already paid off, for example, its €340m loan to shareholder EPH. It keeps selling electricity three years ahead. It plans to load fuel into Mochovce bloc 4 in the first quarter of 2025. The completion of the two blocs will cost €6.3bn and together they will cover 26% of Slovakia's power consumption. Slovakia will already be a net exporter of electricity this year.
