Police environmental crime unit will double its headcount
The police environmental crime unit will double its headcount to 200 by the end of 2022, says its head Mário Kern. The waste and wood business have links to organized crime in Slovakia. Criminals import waste from Italy or Poland in thousands of trucks and illegally store it in rented premises. Kern has called for tougher sentences in this area.
