Only a fifth of the 105,000 foreigners working in Slovakia are managers and specialists

Only a fifth of the 105,000 foreigners working in Slovakia are managers and specialists, while 70% work manually. Almost three quarters work in western Slovakia. Already every tenth production operator is a foreigner; for these positions, companies experience the greatest shortage of domestic applicants. Foreigners mostly come to Slovakia without families and without intending to stay. Slovakia is still reluctant to recognize their qualifications; for example, Ukrainian doctors or teachers often work as cleaners.
