Number of applications for early retirement is falling
The number of applications for early retirement has fallen following a change in legislation that has made them slightly less advantageous since May 15. The number peaked at 9,000 in April and was down to 3,600 in May, 2,500 in June and 3,3000 in July. However, these are still higher levels than the same period last year. Analysts expect further growth later this year, due to the high growth in pensions and the payment of the 13th pension. Firms complain that early retirements are contributing to the tight labor market.
