New brands coming to Slovakia
Despite the pandemic, new fashion (Oysho, Springfield, Woman Secret, and Gap), food (Paul Bakery) and home accessories brands (Zara Home) are entering the Slovak market. Local winery Matyšák is also setting stores in shopping centers, points out CBRE, a consultancy. On the other hand, brands Camaieu, Forever 21, Freywille Promod, Tous, and Klenoty Aurum are leaving the Slovak market, all brands that were in trouble even before the pandemic. Most retailers expect their sales to return to pre-pandemic levels in 2021. Half are considering shrinking their store network. As many as 71% of landlords have provided discounts to retailers.
