Net financial assets of Slovak households jumped by 12% last year
Net financial assets of Slovak households jumped by 12% to €45.3bn last year, according to NBS figures. Their financial assets have long been among the lowest in the EU. During the pandemic, incomes did not fall, Slovaks reduced spending on some services, such as travel, and financial markets delivered outsized returns. Slovaks' financial assets (bank accounts, pension savings or equity investments) stand at €94bn (€17,300 per capita) and debts at €45bn (€8,300).
