Matovič is willing to step down
Igor Matovič said on Sunday that he is willing to step down as Prime Minister and become a cabinet minister if SaS gives up one of its three ministerial positions. He also insists Richard Sulík (SaS) and Mária Kolíková (Za ľudí) leave the government and Juraj Šeliga (Za ľudí) resign as Deputy Speaker of Parliament. He gave no reasons for the demands, but they all have been among the loudest critics of Matovič. So far, only SaS responded. It welcomes the offer of Matovič’s resignation but refuses to give up a cabinet position and deems the other demands “personal vendetta“. Sulík refuses to leave the cabinet if Matovič stays as a minister. If no agreement is reached by Wednesday, all three SaS ministers resign.
