Knauf Insulation can not expand over power shortage

Knauf Insulation has recently announced a plan to invest €50m to increase the production capacity of its Nová Baňa plant by half, but the project is on hold over a lack of electricity. Distributor SSE is working to increase capacity, but this could take five years. The plant increased its net profit by 58% to €10.2m last year and its sales rose by 30% to €89m. It benefited from a long-term energy supply contract.
