Irish Valeo Foods acquired maker of Horalka

Irish Valeo Foods, controlled by Bain Capital, is the new owner of the confectionery firm I.D.C. Holding (brands such as Horalka, Sedita and Mila). It was sold by Pavol Jakubec for an undisclosed sum. The seller was advised by ProRate, Dentons and SLSP. I.D.C. Holding has invested almost €100m in its production plant in Sereď in recent years. Last year, its sales rose 22% to €163m and net profit fell by 38% to €16m. This is the first large Valeo Foods plant in the region, as it only has a smaller facility in Czechia. It will use the new acquisition as the cornerstone of its operations in the fast-growing CEE market.
