Eye clinic chain iClinic (Ivo Ďurkovič) lost €0.5m last year after a 62% drop in sales to €2.7m. It has debts on taxes and payroll levies, which health insurers Dôvera and VšZP are claiming via asset forfeitures. The tax authority FS has cancelled the VAT registration of two of Ďurkovič's companies. The regulator ÚDZS has received 76 complaints against the chain for poor quality care in recent years, 34 of them justified. Ďurkovič had in the past contacts with mobster Marian Kočner, who apparently provided him with funding.
