Health insurers’ profits caped at 10% of equity

The coalition parties agreed on a need to regulate health insurers’ profits and proposed a cap of 10% of equity, reckons ÚDZS, the healthcare authority. It deems this level sufficient for any investor. The state will create a Health Quality Fund that will collect all profits exceeding the 10% limit and will fund treatments. Initially, the ÚDZS proposed a cap of 0.2% of collected premiums.
