Government wants to nationalize land of unidentified owners

The Agriculture Ministry is preparing legislation to nationalize the land of unidentified owners, 8% of Slovakia’s area. The nationalization is set to begin after the state intensifies search for unregistered heirs for a year. The aim is to speed up construction and help farmers. It remains to be seen whether the Constitutional Court okays such legislation.
