India’s Amara Raja Batteries is planning to invest in the production of batteries in Slovakia, said Foreign Affairs Minister Juraj Blanár. It has already invested in InoBat (Marian Boček), which is investing €1.2bn in a battery factory in Šurany together with Chinese firm Gotion. InoBat should also cooperate with the Indian firm. Blanár says its investment is strategic not only for Slovakia, but also for the EU. No details emerged as yet.
