Online eyewear store eyerim (Martin Zahuranec) decided to change focus after the pandemic from designer sunglasses to prescription dioptric products. It also plans to open stores in large Slovak cities. Online sales of branded sunglasses still account for 75% of sales. eyerim wants to provide the so-called refractive tests measuring vision correction via computer. Last year, it lost €0.7m despite sales rising by half to €9.5m. It explains the loss by investments in its online store, logistics and in-house lens production. It is looking for investors who would provide €3-5m for further growth.
