Expensive deposit-return scheme for PET bottles launched

Stores launched the deposit-return scheme for PET bottles and drink cans on January 1. The deposit was set for 15 cents. The expensive scheme with investment costs of €80m and annual operating costs of €30m should increase the recycling rate from the current 65% to 90% by 2025.
