EU suspended €3bn payments

An EU audit has found shortcomings in three projects funded by the Integrated Infrastructure operational program and Brussels is suspending all payments under this program, some €3bn. This may impact the new tram line in Bratislava, purchase of new trolleybuses or rail and road projects. The Slovak state budget would be on the hook. The Transport Ministry is already “working intensively” on the issue and hopes the payments will resume soon.
