EU funds delayed again

The government will approve the Partnership Agreement for EU funds for the 2021-27 period this fall and the EU will okay it early next year, reckons Deputy PM Veronika Remišová (Za ľudí). Slovakia will get €12.8bn over seven years, down from €15.6bn in 2014-20. The preparation of the Agreement was delayed by the pandemic and work on the Recovery Fund, from which Slovakia will receive another €6bn by the end of 2026. It will receive an extra €459m from the Just Transition Fund too. Slovakia has been among the worst countries in spending EU funds and the delay at the very beginning means problems for the current programing period.
