Elite policemen led by oligarch Norbert Bödör wanted to keep Smer in power

A group of elite policemen led by oligarch Norbert Bödör and then Police Chief Tibor Gašpar had three goals―keep Smer in power, hold onto key jobs in the state security apparatus, and make money through racketeering and by selling police decisions, said Ľudovít Makó, group member and former head of the tax authority FS Criminal Unit, in his statement to police. The group followed Vasiľ Špirko, a prosecutor who spoke about the corruption of ex-ministers Robert Kaliňák and Ján Počiatek, as well as Igor Matovič. They invented ex-President Andrej Kiska’s tax fraud case.
