Most of the 14 Slovak economists in a survey by the E daily backed the idea of a massive one-off economic stimulus along with the current pandemic assistance to companies. Ján Tóth, head of the fiscal responsibility council RRZ, advocates for a €2bn stimulus. Economists would direct the stimulus at the hospitality and travel sectors (the government might approve an additional €157m for the travel sector this week) and distribute the money as soon as possible. The government should also speed up the spending of EU fund money.
