Double-digit inflation but economy should grow

The average inflation will reach 10.4% this year and 11.1% next year, NBS predicts. Expensive energy in particular is pushing up prices. Inflation may be lower if the largest gas suppliers offer households a more moderate increase in prices (by 32% next year), as proposed by Economy Minister Richard Sulík. Real wages will fall this year and probably next as well. The economy should grow 1.4% this year and 1.9% in 2023 (previous NBS forecasts were 2.8% and 2.3%.
