Burglaries up to pre-pandemic levels
The number of apartment burglaries rose 40% annually in January-May, police data show. Apartment/house burglaries were up 24%. If the trend continues, the number of burglaries will return to pre-pandemic levels and the ten-year declining trend will stop. During the pandemic, the number of burglaries dropped sharply as people did not travel and worked from home.
