The city of Bratislava is continuing preparations for a €190-250m investment in the reconstruction of its waste incineration plant. This will increase its capacity by a third to 180,000 tons of waste per year. Thermal output will increase 4-fold to 40 MW and electrical output 2.5-fold to 16.5 MW. It plans to launch a tender for a contractor next year, and the project is due to be completed in 2032.
Slovnaft and GGES (Ivan Kmotrík) are also planning incinerators in the west of Slovakia.
