Another attempt at reforming healthcare
eath Minister Vladimír Lengvarský (OĽaNO) presented the principles of his health care reform. He wants to start by optimizing the network of hospitals and follow with changes in outpatient and long-term care. The Recovery Plan has set aside €1.6bn for the reform. Several governments have already tried to downsize the hospital network, but they have always given in to pressure from regions that do not want to lose their small, low-quality hospitals. Lengvarský will present specific proposals in August.
