€70m investment in logistics terminal Interport Košice
Logistics terminal Interport Košice, owned by the Košice region VÚC and Czech IPP and managed by Czech group Cream (Petr Tankó), is starting modernization that the EU backed with a €50m subsidy last year. The owners are investing a further €20m to improve technology (cranes) and increase capacity. The terminal is close to U.S. Steel and the planned Volvo car plant and allows transshipment of goods from broad gauge and European railways, or from trains to cars. Warehouse space will be expanded from 20,000 sqm to 150,000 sqm. The project is to be completed in 2026.
