Kurzarbeit approved

The government approved further job saving measures. Employers who were forced to leave workers home will be able to choose from two schemes. Either they can document a drop in sales and receive up to €540 per worker per month, or they can receive 80% of wages from the state, up to €880 per month, without submitting documentation. One-person Ltd.s, sole traders, and those working on work agreements (a type of job contract) also qualify for the assistance at €210 a month. The government expects these measures to cost €200m per month. Companies complain that caps on wage reimbursement are too low.
