Three of four Slovak car plants are pausing production
The Nitra car plant of Jaguar Land Rover announced it is pausing production on Friday, under pressure from its labor union and workers. The production could be resumed after Easter (April 13). All its UK plants remain operational. Its local supplier Syncreon is pausing production too. Volkswagen and PSA are closing all their plants in Europe; the Slovak VW plants paused production on Tuesday for 2-3 weeks and PSA will do the same on Thursday. On Tuesday evening, Kia Motors announced its Žilina plant and its suppliers keep working.
