TMR wants to invest €50m in Chopok
Tatry mountain resorts (Igor Rattaj) has presented plans for a massive €50m development of the south side of its ski resort, Chopok. In response to high demand, it plans to add new ski slopes as well as parking, accommodation and catering in the coming seven years. Previously, most investments were concentrated on the northern side of the hill. It will also increase its snow-making capacity. Among the planned projects is a 330-bed Hotel Krúpová and 30-50 chalets. The company is complaining of the absence of a Low Tatras zoning plan that would set clear boundaries for tourism development.
