Record number of 59 mergers and acquisitions totaling €1.3bn
Foreign investors carried out a record number of 59 mergers and acquisitions totaling €1.3bn in Slovakia last year, according to data of CMS, a law firm. The transaction volume was 2.5-times higher annually. The largest deal was the acquisition of CME by Czech group PPF, the Slovak part of which (TV Markíza) amounted to €280m. About 20% of all deals involved real estate. The transaction volume in the CEE region was down 10% to €72.3bn.
