Chemosvit is not for sale
Foil and fiber maker Chemosvit is still owned by 14 families that privatized it in early 1990s. The initial privatizers are getting old, but five families already have a next generation in the company’s management. The families want to stay in control and have no intention of selling despite interest from companies such as Constantia, Huhtamaki, Clondalkin and Mondi. They might consider some form of partnership. Since 1995, Chemosvit has had a joint venture with Huhtamaki, called Terichem, which makes electro-foil for condensers.
Chemosvit employs 2,300 and has annual sales of €220m. Its plant in Ukraine employs another 250 and has €25m sales.
