Labor Ministry proposed increasing the minimum wage to €580
The Labor Ministry proposed increasing the minimum wage to €5800 in January 2020, from the current €520. Czechia has a minimum wage of €519, Hungary €464 and Poland €523. The EU average is €925.
The Smer party is also working on a bill that would set the minimum wage at 60% of the average wage in the economy (€608 last year) starting in 2021. SNS wants a similar way of setting a minimum pension.
