Zuzana Čaputová condemned the “deterioration in human rights protection in China”

President Zuzana Čaputová condemned the “deterioration in human rights protection in China” at a meeting with China’s Foreign Affairs Minister Wang Yi in Bratislava. Chinese officials are no longer used to similar appeals from Western politicians. Wang Yi came to Slovakia to discuss the involvement of the V4 countries in the Belt and Road Initiative. The inflow of Chinese investment into the Central European region has been modest.

China criticized previous Slovak president Andrej Kiska for meeting the Dalai Lama.
