AquaCity Poprad is up for grabs for €30-50m

Wellness resort AquaCity Poprad is up for grabs for €30-50m, according to Czech website motejlekskocdopole.com. Czech-born British businessman Jan Telensky owns 85% and the city of Poprad the rest. The city is selling its stake since the resort has not been paying dividends. Resort’s management denies Telensky is selling his stake; he wants to purchase the city’s stake and is discussing the price. Last year, the resort’s net profit stagnated at €0.9m and its sales rose 8% to €11.9m. It is about to launch a €6.5m investment into renovation and extension.

The potential suitors include TMR (the owner of nearby Tatralandia resort), while the local group Verex (the owner of Gino Paradise in Bešeňová) denied any interest.
