Two problematic IT projects
The Office of the Deputy PM okayed six public IT projects. Four smaller projects were greenlit by Slovensko.Digital, a pressure group. They will facilitate the services of the sole traders’ registry and support better business regulation. S.D red-flagged two large projects. The Education Ministry wants to shell out €27m for electronic tracking of school attendance. Most schools have been using private portals providing such services for several years now, rendering the new state system useless. The €46m project of social insurer SP should wait until SP transforms its internal processes, and only then should new IT systems follow.
