Health Ministry is changing plans for building the new university hospital

The Health Ministry is changing plans for building the new university hospital in Bratislava’s Rázsochy and is moving the completion date to beyond 2022. It no longer expects a private partner to design, build, and run the hospital. Consultants will only advise the Ministry in designing it, and selecting a contractor. The government thus has given up the chance to hire a reputable foreign hospital administrator. It plans to increase the number of beds from the initial 578 to 653. It will launch a tender for the hospital’s design once the current tender for demolishing the old hospital skeleton in Rázsochy is completed.

Penta will open its new hospital in nearby Bory in 2021. Some say the state will shelve its plan for the new hospital if there are further delays.
